  31. Look here, George.  If you discuss a statement from an individual, not speaking
  32. for the company, about considering technical possibilities as if it were a
  33. promise by the company to pursue a particular direction, then _you_ are the one
  34. spreading misinformation and false expectations.

  36. Dr. K. is speaking to us both as an informed member of the Amiga community, and
  37. as an AT employee who keeps us informed about internal developments as a service
  38. to the user base.  This is a rare phenomenon, and one that most of us begged and
  39. pleaded for.  If you take all his words as gospel and try to pin AT down on
  40. them, you are effectively making it impossible for him to continue doing this.

  42. Now ask yourself:  Would you rather have AT stick to an option that turned out
  43. to be a poor choice, just because the user base seems to expect it?  Options
  44. must be explored, and from time to time there will be one that must be rejected.

  46. We don't have a Bill Gates who first promises something to the users three years
  47. in advance and then commands his programmers to deliver it, regardless of
  48. technical considerations.  I'm very happy about that myself.  See what's
  49. possible first and you will have a more exciting machine, greater longevity, and
  50. less vapourware.  The vapourware is replaced by rumours but you've simply got to
  51. keep them in the proper perspective.
